Moldovan PM has dialogue with local public authorities of Telenesti district

Chisinau, 2 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita has met local public authorities of the Telenesti district, on her visit to northern Moldova. The participants in the discussions tackled more up-to-date subjects, solutions which might be enforced to overcome the current crises, as well as the economic projects with major impact in the long run, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

Natalia Gavrilita referred to the actions undertaken by the cabinet to develop all settlements and regions of Moldova. The PM touched upon, in particular, the management of the economic situation, pointing to the salary increases planned and the mechanism established for this: ‘’The government stays open and does its utmost, through the ministerial teams, to attract foreign investors, as well as to protect the already existing businesses. This will generate new jobs, good salaries and, obviously, will lead to the growth of the local and national economy. And this will persuade people to remain in Moldova.’’     

The prime minister emphasized also the measures taken by the cabinet to help the local public authorities manage the assets they own or settle the problems which hinder the development of certain fields locally.   

„As you already know, in the last year, we have managed to initiate diverse efficient programmes, the best known one being the European Village. Then, we can speak about peasant farms and their erasing from registers, about the law on the regime of water basins, the problem as to the value shares, the tax on the use of roads and removing the ceilings for the local taxes. Given that they have proved their efficiency, we are set to open another 60 single centres of providing public services, so that citizens can access the digital services as close to their homes as possible,’’ Natalia Gavrilita stressed.        

Those 31 mayors from the Telenesti district’s settlements who attended the meeting set forth the difficulties they had been facing for more years, such as: the repair of roads connecting villages between them, change of the purpose of non-used buildings or waste management. The sides also discussed the reform of the local public administration, as well as the carrying out of budgets, especially of the ones got from foreign financing.
