Chisinau, Dec. 3 /MOLDPRES/- More than 40 thousand households out of the 695 thousand registered on the portal will receive higher compensation when paying bills, and the degree of vulnerability that was initially assigned to them will be recalculated. The decision was approved during the Emergency Situations Commission meeting, convened today by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Following the analysis of the processed data, it was established that a certain category of consumers have a history of energy consumption that does not allow the correct estimation of their energy vulnerability. In order to correct these situations, a minimum level of energy cost was established used in the calculation of the degree of vulnerability for all consumers.

Marcel Spatari, Minister of Labor and Social Protection, informed the CSE members that out of the 695 thousand applications submitted on the platform in November, 80% of the households received a very high degree of vulnerability, and they will be compensated up to 59% of the natural gas bill and around 50% of the central heating bill.

Another 11% of applicants were assigned high vulnerability, 5% of applicants received medium vulnerability, and 3% low vulnerability. Only 1% of the number of consumers registered on the portal were classified as non-vulnerable and will not benefit from compensation.

Citizens can register on the platform until March inclusive. People who have failed to register can continue to do so, with compensation for these consumers to be granted from the month following the month in which they registered. For the month of November, unregistered consumers will benefit from average compensations, and starting from January, from low compensations.

For the energy consumption compensation program, the Government has allocated 5 billion lei, an amount two and a half times higher compared to 2021.
