Rector of Moldovan Technical University says training specialists in agriculture priority for institution

Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Technical University of Moldova (UTM) will identify new opportunities, in order to strengthen the education process at the faculties with agricultural profile, to that the future specialists meet the requirements of the modern agriculture and the agricultural professions are more attractive for young people from Moldova’s districts. The state secretary at the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry, Iurie Scripnic, and UTM Rector Viorel Bostan discussed the subject today.  

The discussions were focused on the training of specialists for the food industry, in order to provide a new structure of the ministry, the food industry department, with qualified staff. 

„It is necessary to attract the private environment for the continuous training, improvement of the cooperation between specialists with agricultural profile and those from the sector of information technologies, in order to implement digital solutions on fields, create an innovation park in the agriculture sector, a veterinary clinic, an intelligent greenhouse, so that the horticulture students study and test in-vitro ways of growing plants, as well as to enhance the level of education of staff, in order to get value added,’’ Viorel Bostan noted.   

In the context, the institution’s rector assured the Agriculture Ministry’s leadership that UTM’s experience in the field of staff training, including in the sector of processing vegetal and animal production, would be widely used in continuation, in order to provide the Moldovan agro-industrial complex with qualified specialists in all sectors of agricultural profile.
