Japan to provide Moldova with 27 million dollars for more projects

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has received Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Katayama Yoshihiro on a farewell visit, on the occasion of the end of his mandate in the country.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service, the Moldovan official thanked the ambassador for his personal contribution to the strengthening of the Moldovan-Japanese relations and for the support provided for Moldova’s modernization. President Maia Sandu awarded the ambassador of Japan the Order of Honour for this fact, at a proposal by MAEIE.
„At the meeting, I was happy to receive an official notification on behalf of the Tokyo authorities on the approval by the National Diet of Japan of a financial assistance worth about 27 million dollars, announced at the visit to Japan by the head of state, a sum which is to be provided to Moldova through international organizations for concrete projects in the fields of health, energy, food industry, and the goal of which is to reduce the impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine on our country,’’ the Moldovan official said.
