Two Moldovan citizens die in traffic accident occurred in Poland

Chisinau, 13 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE), through Moldova’s Embassy in Warsaw, took note and instructed to urgently verify a piece of news related to a traffic accident which had occurred on the S8 highway nearby the settlement Żabikowo Rządowe in the Podlasia voivodeship of Poland and the belonging of the accident’s victims to Moldova’s citizenship, the MAEIE press service has reported.

According to the Polish authorities, the accident took place on 12 December afternoon, when a truck hit a mini-bus registered in Moldova with six people onboard – five Moldovan citizens and one Ukrainian. In the wake of the accident, two persons, Moldovan citizens, died on the spot, another two persons, also Moldovan citizens, are hospitalized for medical care and one Moldovan citizen was not injured and is now discharged from hospital.

The Embassy of Moldova in Warsaw is in touch with the local authorities, in order to provide specialty consular assistance.
