Moldovan president, justice sector decision-makers discuss process of recovery of embezzled assets

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a working meeting with Justice Minister Sergiu Litvinenco, acting Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu and Head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office Veronica Dragalin, the presidential press service has reported.

The meeting was focused on the outcome of the Moldovan president’s participation, last week, in the International Anticorruption Conference in the USA and on the discussions she had with the U.S. authorities for Moldova’s advancement in the anticorruption fight.

The sides also discussed the actions of recovery of the assets embezzled from Moldova and sent to other countries.

President Maia Sandu recommended the revising of the institutional and legislative needs of the anticorruption sector, in order to speed up the process of assets’ recovery.
