Access of main oil products to Moldova's market to be facilitated

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - The petrol and diesel oil will be imported to Moldova in a simplified process, following a today’s decision approved by the cabinet.  

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, in the case of the direct import from EU member states, decision-makers will recognize the documents which confirm the quality of the oil products, without the need to compulsorily make the collection of samples on the customs area of Moldova.   

If the essential oil products come from third countries, the getting of an inspection report from competent institutions, recognized by the authority in charge from Moldova, is compulsory.  

The state control over the observance of the technical specifications for the main fuels placed on market will be carried out by the State Inspection for Supervision of Non-Food Products and Consumers’ Protection.   

The oil products market of Moldova is supplied from the import from the principal providers of the region. Last year, Romania held a share of 99.3 out of all petrol imported. This tendency is explained by the presence on the Moldovan market of oil companies which hold their own refineries in Romania, as well as due to the small distance, which allows the import by car and by train at accessible prices.
