Issue of observance of human rights in Transnistrian region stays in focus of Moldova's Reintegration Policies Bureau

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - The situation of human rights in the Transnistrian region continues to represent the key priority of the Reintegration Policies Bureau. At the same time, constant efforts are made, in order to re-bring Tiraspol to the table of negotiations and reiterate the need to reactivate the positive interaction within the platform of the working groups for human rights, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

Unfortunately, we have to repeatedly draw attention to the lack of openness on behalf of Tiraspol to identify positive solutions on individual cases of glaring violation of human rights in the Transnistrian region, among which the ones of Adrian Glijin, Victor Pleshkanov, Vadim Pogorletskiy, Vladimir Dudnic and many other citizens of Moldova, whose rights were harmed in the wake of the illegal and discriminatory actions practiced by the Tiraspol structures.

It is worth mentioning that Chisinau’s proposals from this year on the summoning of the meetings of the working groups for human rights were countermanded or turned down by Tiraspol. So, the recent invitations on the organization of a meeting of the profile experts for 21 November, 19 or 20 December were not accepted.

Despite this, the Bureau and the deputy prime minister for reintegration maintain the dialogue with the international partners of Moldova, national competent authorities, as well as the civil society’s representatives, in order to strengthen efforts of promotion of human rights in the Transnistrian region and paying necessary attention on individual cases, from the viewpoint of the fulfillment of the state’s positive obligations before its citizens.
