Moldovan foreign affairs ministry hosts video-conference of ambassadors with labour and social protection minister

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) has hosted the sixth meeting of the platform of communication and interaction between the Moldovan cabinet members and the heads of the diplomatic missions and consular offices of Moldova abroad. The guest of this issue was Labour and Social Protection Minister Marcel Spatari.    

The state secretary, Ruslan Bolbocean, referred to the full openness of MAEIE and Moldova’s embassies for the prompt assisting of the competent ministry in turning to good account the opportunities of cooperation both bilaterally and multilaterally.  

For his part, the labour and social protection minister reiterated that the institution he leads wanted an as active as possible dialogue and communication between the embassies and the ministry, especially as regards the advancement of the discussions on the negotiation of priority agreements for the benefit of the Moldovan citizens from abroad, especially in the states with which Moldova does not have agreements concluded on social protection: USA, United Kingdom, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands, etc.    

„We want to ensure a framework of social security guarantees for the migrant workers from Moldova, who carry out or carried out a labour activity on the territory of foreign countries,’’ Minister Marcel Spatari said.  

At the same time, the official stressed that the institution wanted to modernize the system of labour and social protection according to the European standards. Spatari noted a string of concrete examples, such the development of the programme of compensations for energy, financed from the fund of reducing the energy vulnerability, for the elaboration of which the support and expertise of partners from abroad was useful.   

At the online conference, Minister Marcel Spatari answered questions and proposals by heads of diplomatic missions and set goals for future in the labour and social protection sector.
