Moldovan parliament adopts state social insurances budget for 2023

Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today approved the draft law on the state social insurances budget for 2023 in the second reading.   

The state social insurances budget (BASS) for the next year estimates overall revenues worth about 38.7 billion lei, up by 7.5 billion lei or by 24.1 per cent more against 2022. The same sum of 38.7 billion lei is planned in terms of expenses too. The calculations are based on the analysis of the dynamic of the contingent of the beneficiaries of benefits and the performances recorded in the years before, as well as on the basis of the forecast of the macroeconomic indexes: the increase in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2 per cent, of the increase - by 6.7 per cent and of the average monthly salary – by 14.5 per cent.   

The BASS expenses will account for 12.6 per cent of the GDP for the next year.

The biggest share of the BASS expenses goes to ensuring the right to old age pension: over 19.7 billion lei, which is by 34.5 per cent more against the sum approved for 2022.
