Moldovan head of state has phone conversation with German president

Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu and President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier today discussed by phone the bilateral cooperation and the security situation in the region, the presidential press service has reported.

The head of state expressed gratitude for Germany’s continuous support provided to Moldova. She reiterated including a recent Resolution by the Bundestag, through which the German partners are with Moldova on this difficult period.

President Maia Sandu appreciated Germany’s openness, proved both within the Moldova Support Platform and during a visit to Berlin by the head of state in last autumn.

Also, the Moldovan president thanked Germany for helping Moldova overcome the crises faced, especially the energy one. Thus, Germany has recently provided 40 million euros for the energy vulnerability fund, including for compensations to the citizens and financing energy efficiency projects.
