Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament passed a draft law, which provides for the switch of the district hospitals from the subordination of the district councils to the management of the Health Ministry, in the second reading today.
The document was worked out by the government and subjected to public consultations with representatives of the local public administrations of the second level, the hospital environment and the civil society.
The draft sees that, following the reform, all district hospitals will continue working and the investments in these institutions will increase, in order to improve the quality of the services provided to patients. Also, the property of these institutions will further be managed by the local authorities.
The document’s authorities reasoned that, at present, the district hospitals faced an acute lack of investments, with lack of medicine and bad state of equipment.
