Moldovan parliament adopts draft law on creation of alternative child care services

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today adopted the draft law for the creation of the alternative services of taking care of children with ages up to three years.
The document provides for the establishment of three types of services: services organized by employer at the working place; services provided by the qualified servant/woman servant at her home/residence for a limited number of children; services provided by servant/woman servant at the home/residence of the child.
The draft includes the conditions as to the services proposed, monitoring and control, financial and fiscal aspects. At the same time, the government will work out a separate sanitary regulation for each service, which will describe their way of activity.
In the opinion of the document’s authors, the creation of alternative services will enhance the rate of comprising children in care services, which will increase women’s participation on the labour market.
The draft law was elaborated in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund from Moldova, UN Women, UN Children’s Fund and GIZ Moldova.
The document was backed in the second reading.
