Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today unveiled the results of the legislative body’s autumn session. The speaker said that the parliament’s work had been focused on the agenda of reforms assumed before the citizens.

The official stressed that this year was a difficult one, with many challenges and hardships. ‘’Even if we face quite complicated crises, we have remained perseverant, we kept carrying out the agenda of reforms and we precisely fulfilled out commitments, as we received the confidence and votes of the citizens. A priority was the justice reform, carrying out the infrastructure projects, salaries’ increase, providing support on the cold period of the year, backing the young families and the citizens from the Diaspora,’’ Igor Grosu said.

The speaker noted that another achievement was the strengthening of the parliamentary diplomacy and the giving of the status of country candidate for accession to EU. ‘’Moldova’s acceptance as country candidate for accession to the European Union is a clear signal that we are on the best side of the world, on the side of those who solve the disagreements through negotiations and discussions. In this integration process, Moldova will have more opportunities to attract funds, to modernize the infrastructure and the public services, in order implement reforms which are to make us more resistant, stronger, more protected. Despite the unprecedented crises we are facing, we go ahead. We really want a prosperous and developed country. I am confident that Moldova will continue to be a proud member of our community of values, will join EU and we will continue working  together for a stronger and more peaceful Europe,’’ Igor Grosu noted.

At the same time, the parliament speaker thanked the colleagues for the legislative initiatives, contribution and the work carried out.

The parliament has two ordinary sessions per year. The spring session starts in February and cannot exceed the end of July. The autumn one begins in September and cannot exceed the end of December.
