Mechanism of consulting by parliament of Gagauzia's People's Assembly to be regulated under law

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - The mechanism of consulting by the parliament of the People’s Assembly (local parliament) of the Gagauz-Yeri  Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA Gagauzia) will be regulated under the law.     

Under the draft, the draft normative acts which regard the status and competences of UTA Gagauzia will be submitted to the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia/Executive Committee for consideration and approval. At the same time, the draft clearly stipulates the power of UTA Gagauzia’s authorities to submit the drafts of the local laws for consideration and approval to the ministries and other competent central administrative authorities, in charge of the sector to which the draft law refers.        

The document’s authors stressed that the legislative authorities would lead to the deepening of the cooperation relations between UTA Gagauzia and the central public administration bodies.  

Also at the today’s meeting, the MPs voted, in the first reading, a draft law which propose the amendment of the parliament’s regulation. Thus, the standing parliamentary commissions will be in charge of inviting representatives of the People’s Assembly to discussions, if draft laws referring to UTA Gagauzia are subjected to hearings.
