Over 21,000 lease contracts registered last year

Chisinau, 12 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Last year, 21,235 real estate leasing contracts were registered at the State Fiscal Service (SFS), up by 19.5% than the previous year.
As a result, income tax receipts from private people who lease real estate increased by 24.5% in 2022 and amounted to 41.9 million lei (around 2 million euros).
According to the SFS, in January - December last year, 6,266 private people were identified who rent real estate.
According to the legislation, citizens who rent out real estate are obliged to register the rental contracts with the SFS and pay a tax of 7% of the income obtained.
