Chisinau, 13 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development wrote yesterday that he will come with a recommendation to the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) to analyze the current data as soon as possible and decide if there are prerequisites for reducing gas tariff.

According to the deputy prime minister, ANRE is the institution responsible for setting the gas tariff. However, a possible reduction in the gas tariff can only take place after ANRE will analyze all the costs related to the purchase, transportation, distribution and supply of gas to consumers.

The government prepared seriously and responsibly to get through the current winter. One of the actions taken was contracting a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) of 300 million euros for the procurement of gas reserves. In this regard, starting from October 20, 2022 and until January 10, 2023, more than 100 rounds of auctions were organized to buy gas at the best prices on the market, according to the cited source.

"We have enough stocks to get through this winter well. Energocom will continue to buy gas from international markets", he said.
