Chisinau, 13 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu visited Straseni district yesterday and spoke with people of Vorniceni, Scoreni and Cojusna about the problems of the localities, the efforts to overcome the crises caused by the war in Ukraine, as well as the European integration plans, the presidential press service has reported.

"We will succeed, despite the difficulties, through unity and acting as a community. And each of us can and must make a difference", said Maia Sandu.

Today, all these three localities are developing from their own resources or donated by the development partners and carry out with the involvement of local residents projects funded by the European Village Program. Thanks to this Program, the Vorniceni town hall building will be thermally insulated and will have a new roof, the Museum Complex will be rebuilt in Scoreni, and the pedestrian alley in the central park of Cojusna has already been rehabilitated and landscaped. Also in Cojușna, Maia Sandu visited the high school, which offers extraordinary conditions to the 750 pupils and teachers there. This educational unit was renovated within a project financed by the World Bank and which the head of state initiated during her mandate at the Ministry of Education.

"I was very happy to meet brave people who open businesses in rural areas. I was impressed to meet Angela and Andrei Rabacu who, after 12 years of working abroad and with a little support from the state, opened a bakery in Vorniceni, where they produce bread and bakery products of exceptional quality. Moldova will succeed thanks to its people who are not afraid of work and who change the lives of communities for the better", said Maia Sandu.
