Chisinau, 13 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the Law for the amendment of some normative acts were published today in the Official Journal and will enter into force on 1 March.

The document aims to improve the participation rate of women and reduce the burden of unpaid or paid work on pregnant women who continue to work, even on maternity leave.

Currently, for the period of maternity leave that overlaps with the period in which the woman is working, only the salary is paid, not the allowance. Thus, the document preserves the woman's right to benefit from the respective allowance, the amount of which will be determined based on the income of the wife or husband, depending on who has a higher salary.

The law enters into force on 1 March 2023. The government within 2 months from the date of publication of this law in the Official Journal will bring its normative acts in line with it.
