Chisinau, 13 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- The law on transfer of district hospitals from the subordination of district councils to the management of the Ministry of Health was published in the Official Journal today.

According to the document, following the reform, all district hospitals will continue to function, and investments in these institutions will increase to enhance the quality of services offered to patients. Also, the property of the institutions will continue to be managed by the local authorities.

The authors of the bill argued that currently, district hospitals face an acute lack of investment, problems related to their management, lack of medicines and poor condition of equipment.

The document enters into force upon publication in the Official Journal.
