PM says Moldovan government to continue to come up with targeted actions for economic growth

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ - The measures of economic growth and increasing the number of jobs and the cabinet’s actions to ensure the local development were the main subjects tackled by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita at a today’s meeting with representatives of the local public authorities from the northern Falesti district, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

During the discussions, the PM referred to the government’s actions to enhance the energy security, as well as to the mechanisms of backing the people hit by the increase in prices for energy and natural gas. Natalia Gavrilita have assurances that the cabinet would continue coming up with targeted actions for economic growth, despite the chain crises.   

„We succeeded in managing the energy crisis; we have enough stocks of natural gas, contracts concluded with providers of electric energy and we have already started preparations for the next heating season. We managed to mobilize the resources needed for providing compensations, increase salaries and allowances. Also, we continue the actions and reforms underway, in order to successfully implement the European agenda,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.     

The PM touched upon the priorities set by the cabinet, in order to increase the number of jobs and attract foreign investors into regions. Also, Natalia Gavrilita stressed that the government would continue to come up measures of supporting the business, through advantageous state programmes.   

„We will continue to come up with advantageous state programmes for the development of business which works in transparent and honest conditions. Those who will develop their businesses in villages will be able to access financial resources for long term at fixed rates, which will allow creating new jobs in regions and will contribute to a uniform economic development in the entire country,’’ the prime minister stressed.    

The mayors from the Falesti district settlements showed interest in the advantages of settlements’ voluntary amalgamation, which include financial stimuli for the employees of the mayoralties and possibilities to access additional funds. The PM reiterated the need to train local public administration employees in the field of formulating projects for the accessing of European funds.   

„In our integration into the European Union, it is necessary that we have authorities prepared and capable to access European funds. You have many opportunities; it is necessary that you prove pro-active spirit and are actively involved in the decision-making process, including on the platform of the Parity Commission for Decentralization, the activity of which was revived after a six-year break,’’ the prime minister noted.  

The participants in the meeting also discussed subjects on increases in salaries, transfers for roads’ rehabilitation, as well as extending the areas of coverage of the European Village National Programme.
