Perspectives of cooperation of State Chancellery with United Nations Development Programmne Moldova considered at government

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ - The stage of implementation of the projects carried out with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the potential sectors of cooperation between the State Chancellery and UNDP in 2023 were discussed at a today’s meeting of Government’s Secretary General Igor Talmazan and the deputy resident representative of UNDP Moldova, Andrea Cuzyova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.      

Igor Talmazan thanked the UNDP team for the role assumed in mobilizing the efforts of response to multiple crises faced by Moldova. A valuable assistance was provided to Moldova on the period of the COVID-19 pandemic and post-pandemic improvement, as well as during the management of the refugees’ crisis, triggered by the war in Ukraine. Also, the government’s secretary general appreciated the UNDP’s contribution to the elaboration of the draft strategy of reform of the public administration.    

„UNDP is a strategic partner for us, which actively gets involved in the priorities fields for Moldova’s development. We just have to fully exploit our cooperation potential and diversify the areas where we can act, including for the implementation of projects locally and ensuring the good work of the democratic institutions in the rule of law state,’’ Igor Talmazan said.    

Presently, UNDP provides needed support for the advancement of the reform of public administration and public money’s management, stimulation of the migration for development locally and promotion of the confidence building measures between the residents from the two banks of Dniester. The programme also provides support to the State Chancellery in the process of strategic planning, development and coordination of policies.

Among the potentials fields of involvement this year, the UNDP team highlighted the professionalization of the public service, development of a mechanism of monitoring and reporting as regards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, providing of training programmes, which would help mobilize resources from regional and global funds. More objectives are set also in the Diaspora field and namely the establishment of a platform for Diaspora’s involvement in developing policies, as well as enhancement of Diaspora’s commitment for the local development.    

„We will provide support and technical assistance, including in the process of preparation for accession to the European Union. We want to extend the cooperation and to be with you for the replication of the results already achieved and fulfillment of new goals,’’ Andrea Cuzyova said.
