Moldovan PM visits Community Centre from Glodeni district, renovated within European Village National Programme

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ - The artistic bands and employees of the Community Centre from the Camenca commune, northern Glodeni district, will benefit from better conditions for the development of the cultural heritage and organization of educational and cultural activities for those over 1,800 residents of the settlement. The Community Centre, renovated within the European Village National Programme, was visited by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

Within the project, new furniture was set, computers, national costumes, sound equipment were bought and the centre’s library was restored. The library’s shelves were completed with a donation of books collected within the campaign, Library under the Fir Tree.   

„I am happy to see a new breath in the settlement, an institution which will enhance the access to educational services and will contribute to the promotion of the national values. We want a modern cultural building and quality educational services to exist in each settlement of the country,’’ PM Gavrilita said.

Subsequently, the prime minister went to the mayoralty of the Camenca commune, which is made up of four settlements, members of the Local Action Group (GAL) from Moldova. Moldova.  

Camenca mayor Ala Postolache referred to the authorities’ intention to promote the rural tourism in the settlement. In this respect, the process of arranging a museum in the honour of the famous historian and literary critique, Vasile Coroban, born in Camenca, is under implementation.    

During discussions with the PM, the commune’s residents touched upon the need to reconstruct the road Glodeni-Camenca-Petruseni, which will make connection with the Costesti-Stanca customs office and the tourist routes Pădurea Domnească (Royal Forest), Cheile Butești, Moara Domnească (Royal Mill)și Suta de movile (One Hundred Hillocks). Only 5.3 km out of the 14.43 km or road are made of asphalt concrete practicable for movement, while the rest of the road is made of broken stone.  

The PM noted that, this year, the cabinet had increased the financial allocations to the local public administrations, meant for the construction and repair of roads.

„We set a clear task for the next years – to make progress in the construction of national roads and in this respect, for 2023, we have planned financial resources worth 500 million euros. We have managed to construct about 300 km of new roads and, given that we efficiently used these resources, we have access to additional financing in this sector. I urge you to turn to good account the current projects, in order to develop together a modern national infrastructure,’’ PM Gavrilita added.
