Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has condemned the 14 January attacks of Russia against Ukraine.

The official said that ‘’the attacks against the infrastructure of cities and the killing of civilians are war crimes and have no justification.’’

„On 14 January, Russia resumed the attacks with missiles against Ukraine. A missile hit a block of flats with 1,700 people from Dnipro, making dozens of victims and wounded, and many people remained under rubble. The attacks targeted the energy infrastructure from more regions of the neighbour country. In the full swing of winter, the Ukrainians live in cold, without water and electricity, knowing that a missile can always hit their home and kill them. This is the reality of the war, imposed by the aggressor – just here, in our neighbourhood. Missiles reach Moldova too – the remains discovered in Briceni on 14 January prove this,’’ the head of state wrote on a social network.

The Russian forces on 14 January boosted their bombardments in more regions of Ukraine. Besides Dnipro, other zones hit were: Odessa, Kharkiv, Lviv, Kiev. The civilian infrastructure was deteriorated and interruptions of power supply were reported. These were the first massive attacks with missiles since the beginning of the New Year, in the wake of which in Dnipro, for instance, at least 20 people were killed and another 73 were wounded.
