Moldovan president conveys message on occasion National Culture Day

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has conveyed a message on the occasion of the National Culture Day, marked on 15 January, the presidential press service has reported.

The message, inter alia, reads:

„The culture is the only sure source of a permanent happiness. It is the only place where freedom is at its home, it is a releasing instance. The man is obliged to go through the purification provided by culture, in order to honour his/her humanity, Noica said.’’ At the same time, President Maia Sandu stressed that, on the National Culture Day, when the birthday of the great poet, Mihai Eminescu, was marked, there was a fit occasion for us to express admiration, respect and gratitude for the creators and thinkers of our country.      

The head of state also said that we should value those who had not given up, had not abandoned either their vocation or projects and country, despite a year of great turbulences, of crises, of maximal tensions and uncertainties triggered by the war in the neighbourhood: ‘’Gratitude to those who perspired and breathed over each word, over each note, over each touch of brush or over each step on the exigent board of the stage, so that, through their work, we raise above the daily things, discover new worlds and rediscover ourselves. Let us value their work. Let us value their talent,’’ President Maia Sandu also said.  

On the occasion of the National Culture Day, the head of state awarded distinctions to more culture people for the outstanding progress made in the creation activity and high professional mastership, through which they contribute to the promotion of the nation’s spiritual values.
