Batch of IT equipment worth one million dollars donated to Moldova by USAID, WHO, UNICEF

Chisinau, 17 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- A batch of 1,205 computers and accessories worth one million dollars, purchased and delivered with the support of USAID, WHO and UNICEF were donated today to the Ministry of Health.

Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco was also present at the donation event, and thanked the international partners for the support to the strengthening of the healthcare system in the Republic of Moldova.

According to the official, the 1,205 computers will mostly reach the health centers in the villages, but also to the specialists in the district public health centers.

She said that the international institutions will also come with a training course for doctors in using the medical systems, and noted that today's donation comes for the strengthening the surveillance system of COVID-19.

Nemerenco urged the population to wear masks and follow the rules to prevent respiratory infections. "In the last two weeks, we have had a small decrease in the number of infections but also in hospitalizations with viral infections, but the situation could change with the return of students to classes", the official said.
