Moldovan parliament speaker, Polish MPs discuss Moldova's European integration way

Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has discussed with a group of Polish MPs, members of the Foreign Affairs Committee and European Union Affairs Committee of Poland’s Sejm (parliament), on a visit to Chisinau. At the meeting, the officials tackled up-to-date subjects, among which the security situation in the region, energy crisis and Moldova’s European integration way, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.    

The parliament speaker expressed gratitude for the generous support provided by Poland to Moldova during years in the process of accession to EU and on the platform of support for Moldova. ‘’We know that this is not an easy process; it implies many reforms; yet, they are part of our governance agenda. The key priorities stay, for us, the European integration, energy security and justice reform, as well as the economic development and investments’ attraction,’’ the parliament speaker stressed.

During the discussions, the speaker expressed Moldova’s interest in taking over Poland’s experience in such sectors as renewable energy, agriculture, digitalization of the medical system. ‘’In this integration process, Moldova will have more opportunities to attract funds, in order to modernize the infrastructure and public services and Moldova should be an example, as a true champion in terms of turning to account European funds and transformation of a country. For the 2023 year, we are set to be as open as possible for business people and to act to back and develop the business,’’ Igor Grosu said at his discussion with the Polish MPs.
