Ministry of Finance set priorities for 2023

Chisinau, 18 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- In 2023, the Ministry of Finance (MF) will focus its attention on a more rigorous management of public finances. Among the priorities will be the adoption of the Public Finance Management Development Strategy for 2023-2030, as well as the Financial Inspection reform.
Minister of Finance Dumitru Budianschi made the statements at public consultations of the Government's Action Plan for 2023. Attending the event were representatives of the associative sector, business community, research, as well as other interested actors.
"The concept of the new Financial Inspection assumes an institution with greater analytical and control capacity, to help us with budget planning: how public money was spent, how these decisions were substantiated and whether correct decisions were adopted," he said. The official also said that in the next period he will aim to strengthen the tax base and protect those who pay taxes and duties, but not the other way.
Other initiatives provided for in the Government's Action Plan for 2023 in the public finances aim at amending fiscal and customs policies, improving the public procurement system, digital systems, public sector payroll, most of the interventions being necessary to adjust national legislation to the European one.
