Performance sport to be financed based on new regulation in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - The national sports federations will be financed based on a new regulation, approved by the cabinet today.

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the document establishes the way and conditions of financing of the performance sport, the value of the basic fund for the Olympic and Paralympic sport branches, the fund of the sports performances for the Olympic, Paralympic and non-Olympic sports branches and the reserve fund of the central specialty body.

The document also regulates the procedure of submitting the applications on financing from the aforementioned funds, of assessing the files submitted, of communication the results and settling the claims, as well as the procedure of conclusion of financing contracts.

The budget approved by the Education and Research Ministry for financing the national sports federations, according to the calendar of sports actions, is of 47 million lei. As much as 15 per cent of this money will go to the Olympic and Paralympic sport branches, 65 per cent will be provided for the sports performances registered in the Olympic/ Paralympic and non-Olympic sports and 20 per cent will represent the reserve fund of the central specialty authority in the field of physical culture and sport.
