United Nations Development Programme to back businesses from Transnistrian region initiated by women

Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced a new contest of grant for the development of the business environment from both banks of Dniester. The deadline for submitting the files on registration for the contest is 17 February.
The project titled, Development of export capacities on the banks of the Dniester, (AdTrade) implemented by UNDP, with the financial support of Sweden and United Kingdom, launches the contest of grants for the promotion of the access of women and girls from the Transnistrian region to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
„Grants worth up to 30,000 dollars will be provided for the carrying out of pilot initiatives of digital alphabetization and of facilitating the access of women and girls from the left bank of Dniester to STEM. The initiatives are to be carried out during nine months,’’ UNDP said.
Project proposals are accepted from consortiums of organizations of the civil society and academic environment, schools or representatives of the private sector from the two banks of Dniester, the quoted source added.
