Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ - An exhibition of paintings signed by Galina Vieru and Natalia Yampolskaia has been inaugurated in the hall at the fifth floor of the government building. Attending the event were all cabinet members and more heads of public institutions, the government’s communication and protocol department reported.

Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita welcomed the launch of such an exhibition at the government’s headquarters and thanked the fine artists for the occasion given to the government’s employees and guests to admire the paintings full of emotions and talent.

„The goal of this action is to support the art – a quite important thing, especially in these troubled times through which we go, when art works can keep the eternal values alive. Each work of the exhibition is special in its kind. One of the paintings – the one showing a white house with veranda and columns, made me think about the yard where I spent my childhood,’’ the prime minister said.

Eighteen out of those 18 works exhibited in the government’s hall belong to Galina Vieru. The painter has over 20 personal painting exhibitions and the same number of participations in international art symposiums. Many of her works are preserved in private collections from the USA, Germany, Canada, France, Italy or Switzerland. Some of Vieru’s works were presented also at the headquarters of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

The painter expressed gratitude for the warm reception and appreciation. She emphasized that the government building had numerous rooms which can be transformed into art galleries.

Another 13 paintings are signed by Natalia Yampolskaia. So far, the fine artist has participated, with her works, in over 70 collective and personal exhibitions and her paintings are in numerous private collections or are presented in art museums from all over the world.

„The exhibition is titled, Woman’s Worlds, and for me, this world has an extremely important and deep connotation. The woman brings peace; the woman gives birth and offers continuity to the mankind. My paintings speak about love, peace and eternity,’’ Natalia Yampolskaia said.

The paintings will be exhibited at the government’s headquarters till 15 March.
