Public authorities submitted 42 reports to Moldovan parliament in 2022

Chisinau, 21 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- In 2022, the public authorities submitted 42 reports to the parliament, according to the statistics of the legislative process for the past year.

The Parliament's Regulation sees that the Government, the Court of Accounts, as well as other public authorities are obliged to submit annual reports to the Legislature, on the basis of which deputies can decide to adopt a decision. "Thus, eight reports were presented in the plenary sessions, and as a result of their examination, five decisions of the Parliament were adopted. Another 13 reports were examined by the deputies in the meetings of the standing commissions", a press release of the Legislature reads.

The statistics of the legislative process also shows that during the past year, the MPs presented 325 amendments. The most went to the deputies of the Action and Solidarity Party parliamentary faction - 252. The Bloc of Communists and Socialists faction presented 57 amendments, and representatives of the Shor Party faction - 14.

At the same time, during 2022, the MPs asked 22 questions to the Government or representatives of other public administration authorities. Four questions were addressed to the Government, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. Three other questions were addressed to the Ministry of the Interior, and the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Research received two questions. Also, the deputies asked one question each to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Food Industry, the Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the General Prosecutor's Office.

According to the Parliament's Regulations, each deputy can ask questions to the members of the Government or the leaders of other public administration authorities. The last working hour of the Legislature every Thursday, except for the last Thursday of the month, is dedicated to questions.
