CNAM to use over 27 million lei to procure vaccines this year

Chisinau, 23 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- About 27.3 million lei (1.3 million euros) will be used to implement measures to reduce the risks of illness, including through immunizations (procurement of the rabies vaccine, rabies immunoglobulin, flu vaccine and the one against viral hepatitis B). The announcement was made by the Coordinating Council for setting up priorities for the use of financial means from the prevention measures fund of the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM).
Another priority set by the Coordinating Council for this year refers to the performance of prophylactic examinations in order to detect diseases early, for which 10.7 million lei will be earmarked. The financial resources will be directed for lung, breast, colorectal screening, as well as for dental services for children in rural areas.
It was also decided to finance the activities of prophylaxis and prevention of disease risks, based on projects. Thus, projects will be financed to prevent HIV, tuberculosis, alcohol consumption and new tobacco products, prevent accidents and trauma in children and adolescents, promote personal hygiene, including oral hygiene, promote physical activity for health and healthy eating among young people. 12 million lei will be allocated for these activities.
In 2023, a total of 50 million lei were planned for the activities financed from the prevention measures fund.
