Moldovan diplomacy head pays working visit to Madrid

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu, at an invitation by his Spanish counterpart José Manuel Albares Bueno, pays a working visit to Madrid, Spain, on 23-24 January.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service, the official will discuss the deepening of the Moldovan-Spanish dialogue, Moldova’s European agenda, the organization of the Summit of the European Political Community, as well as up-to-date aspects regionally, in the context of Russia’s aggression war against Ukraine.
The working agenda will comprise bilateral Moldovan-Spanish consultations at the headquarters of Spain’s Foreign Affairs Ministry. Following the meeting of the national delegations, on 24 January, the foreign affairs ministers will make press statements.
On his agenda, the Moldovan official will have meetings with President of the Congress of Deputies Meritxell Batet Lamaña, the head of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Congress of Deputies, Pau Mari Klose, the director of the Diplomatic School of Spain, Santiago Miralles.
At the same time, Foreign Affairs Minister Nicu Popescu will participate in a workshop organized by the European Council on Foreign Relations on the subject of the European Political Community, due to be hosted by Moldova on 1 June 2023.
On the sidelines of the visit, Deputy PM Nicu Popescu will visit the European Union Satellite Centre (SATCEN), will deliver a public lecture at the Diplomatic School of Spain and will give interviews with the national Spanish media. On 24 January evening, the Moldovan official will meet Diaspora representatives at the headquarters of Moldova’s Embassy in Madrid.
