Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ - About 300 tons of anti-skid material last night were spread on roads of Moldova, in order to combat the glazed frost. Presently, the accessibility of the road infrastructure is ensured in winter conditions on the entire network of national roads.

According to the State Administration of Roads (ASD), works of patrol and combating the glazed frost were carried out in the northern, central and southern regions of Moldova, with the involvement of 33 special vehicles and 15 road workers. Besides those about 300 tons of anti-skid material, 15 tons of technical salt were spread on roads.

ASD warns drivers to comply with the road traffic regulations as regards the vehicles’ equipment with proper tyres and to adapt the speed regime to the conditions of movement in winter time.

At the same time, the police inform that, at present, the movement was made in conditions of fog on the Chisinau-Leuseni highway, which reduces the visibility much. Law-enforcers urge drivers to use the lower beams, along with the fog lights, to increase the distance between transport units and to decrease the speed.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, maximal air temperatures of +4 Celsius degrees and minimal ones of -4 degrees and variable cloud are forecast for the next days.
