Criminal investigation on ex-deputy head of IGP completed

Chisinau, 25 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- PCCOCS prosecutors, together with SIS officers announced today the completion of the criminal investigation on former deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate Gheorghe Cavcaliuc.

According to PCCOCS, the criminal case concerns his investigation in Petic and Verbițchi files. The prosecutors charge him with abuse of office (as the perpetrator of the crime), as well as the capacity of organizer of the following crimes: false reporting, filing and determination to file false statements, violation of the inviolability of personal life, carrying and keeping ammunition.

Under the law, the most serious of them - abuse of office - is punishable by three to eight years in prison.

PCCOCS notes that the accused evades prosecution and refuses to appear before the prosecutors. The law enforcers requested the Chisinau Court to authorize the completion of the criminal investigation in his absence.
