Policemen urge drivers to move attentively in complicated weather conditions in Moldova

Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/ - Law-enforcers recommend that drivers drive their vehicles attentively, as the traffic takes place in winter conditions in more regions of Moldova.   

According to the General Police Inspectorate, drivers should avoid sharp brakings and accelerations. At the same time, people are urged not to stop or stand in places where they might hinder a normal carrying out of the road traffic.     

Also, policemen ask drivers not to outrun columns of vehicles. Given that the visibility is low in car’s mirrors because of rain/sleet/snow, it is important that people make sure thoroughly when they change the direction of movement. Drivers are urged not to drive, if they are tired and avoid the use of the phone while driving. Also, parents are warned to supervise their children at sleighing.  

Policemen will continue monitoring the situation on roads of Moldova. In case of risk situations, citizens are urged to call the 112 Emergency Service.

Meteorologists issued Yellow Code of complicated weather conditions for today. The warning is valid in the country’s Central and Southern regions. Snow is expected, predominantly in the southern region of the country. Layers of sleet will appear in places and roads will be covered by glazed frost.
