Chisinau, Jan 30. /MOLDPRES/- The special vehicle park of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations /IGSU/ was increased today with two new ambulances worth over 47 thousand US dollars, provided by a non-governmental organization from the United States of America.
IGSU head Alexandru Oprea was also present at the event, who thanked the American partners for their support. He said that the ambulances, after passing all technical procedures, will be used in daily missions, including to provide aid to refugees from Ukraine.
He noted that recently, the number of missions performed by rescuers and firefighters is constantly increasing and the need to increase the level of equipment is also greater. He said that only in the last few days, dozens of firefighters and rescuers intervened in the south of the country to tow cars stuck due to bad weather and in Chisinau to extinguish a fire that broke out at a honey warehouse.
