PM says Made in Moldova exhibition visiting card of Moldovan economy

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - Over 300 economic agents from the industrial and agricultural sectors participate in the 20th jubilee edition of the Made in Moldova exhibition, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

Attending the festivity of the event’s inauguration, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita appreciated the native producers’ tendency to reorient, in order to cope with the crisis situations and put emphasis on quality. ‘’Made in Moldova is a visiting card of the Moldovan economy and I want the products we find here to be qualitative, competitive, accessible and that we are proud with them,’’ the PM said.

Natalia Gavrilita referred to the importance for the entrepreneurs of the status of country candidate for EU, which Moldova received in last summer. ‘’Once the European integration process advanced, opportunities, as well as the challenges for the Moldovan business are enhancing. Our entrepreneurs get access to millions of new consumers; at the same time, they should cope with new requirements, sometime severer ones and compete with bigger producers,’’ the official noted.      

The prime minister emphasized the actions of backing the business people and reviewed also the cabinet’s priorities for the next period.

„The government has the task to find the balance between the promotion of the interests of economic agents and protection of consumers’ rights. We support the business environment through the digitalization of state’s services, more intelligent regulations and certainly, financially. Just on 31 January, 230 million lei was earmarked for the compensation of enterprises’ consumption of natural gas. We also managed to increase the value of the programmes of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA) up to 720 million lei last year. This money reached 1,375 enterprises as grants, financial guarantees, subsidies for participation in exhibitions. We will soon launch the Fund for Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth of Moldova (FACEM), which in three years is to reach a capitalization of two billion lei,’’ the PM added.       

Industrial enterprises, textiles and furniture enterprises, as well as numerous enterprises from the agro-industrial sector, with food products and beverages, are present at the exhibition. Forty new companies are among the participants as well. In the two pavilions, visitors can find collective exhibitions of Moldova’s districts, of public institutions which provide services, such as the National Employment Agency (ANOFM), National Social Insurances House (CNAS), ODA, the Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA), Investments Agency, nongovernmental organizations or popular craftsmen.        

The novelty of this edition of the exhibition, at which about 50,000 visitors are expected, consists in the organization of a forum in the wine-making sector, in which representatives of Romania, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Poland and Turkey will participate. The forum’s goal is to preliminarily establish meetings between representatives of foreign delegations, who visit the exhibition, and native producers, which will lead to the deepening of the cooperation relations and establishment of sustainable partnerships between entrepreneurs of Moldova and from abroad.      

The 20th issue of the Made in Moldova exhibition is held at the headquarters of the Moldexpo International Exhibitions Centre and could be visited till 5 February.
