Seventh meeting of Moldova - EU Association Council to be held in Brussels next week

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - The seventh meeting of the Moldova – European Union Association Council will take place in Brussels next week. This will be the first meeting of the Council, after Moldova got the status of candidate for accession to EU. Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita made statements to this effect in the beginning of a cabinet meeting today.
According to the PM, among the subjects tackled at the meeting, there are the political dialogue and reforms, economic and sectoral cooperation, especially in the energy sector, issues dealing with the commerce and cooperation in the foreign and security policy.
„An important subject will be the approximation of the national legislation, that action plan on which we work for the implementation of those nine conditions formulated by the European Commission for starting the negotiations. Along with more ministers, we will continue discussing with the European Commission on how can we manage the challenges faced by our citizens. We will discuss the joint purchasing of energy resources, extension of the quotas of export for Moldovan products and, in general, the access of our entrepreneurs and products to the EU market. We will discuss infrastructure projects and projects on the development of local communities,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.
The sixth meeting of the Moldova – European Union Association Council took place in 2021.
