Moldova's Agency for Energy Efficiency has new director

Chisinau, 2 February /MOLDPRES/ - Ion Muntean is the new director of the Agency for Energy Efficiency (AEE). The state secretary of the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry (MIDR), Constantin Borosan, has introduced Muntean to the staff of the institution he is to lead.
The MIDR official voiced confidence that the new AEE head had the experience needed to contribute to the strengthening of the institution’s capacity and to achieve new goals set in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
AEE director Ion Muntean said that, among the priorities, he was set to develop the institution, so that it makes available to consumers instruments and mechanisms of financing for the optimization of the energy consumption, the necessity of which was strengthened by the present energy crisis through which Moldova goes. Special attention will be paid to the digitalization of the processes and reducing the influence of the human factor in the decision-making process, the new AEE director said.
Ion Muntean has the title of PhD in energy management and works as university lecturer at the Energy and Engineering Faculty of the Moldovan Technical University (UTM). He is also certified by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry from Potsdam, Germany, as European Energy Manager. Muntean also finished numerous professional training and qualification courses in the energy efficiency and renewable energy sectors both in Moldova and abroad.
