Moldova to receive 25 million euros on behalf of top European bank for solid waste's management

Chisinau, 2 February /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will benefit from a loan worth 25 million euros on behalf of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the carrying out of the Solid Waste in Moldova project.
The lawmakers today voted a draft law on the ratification of the agreement on loan between the Moldovan government and EBRD in both readings.
The project’s beneficiaries will be the local public authorities and the residents from the districts of Ungheni, Nisporeni, Calarasi, Edinet, Donduseni, Ocnita, Briceni, Cahul, Cantemir, Taraclia, as well as those of the Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauz-Yeri. The population from the concerned settlements will benefit from selective collection of solid waste and emphasis will be put on the transition to the circular economy.
The draft will be implemented during 2023-2027.
