Chisinau, Feb. 3 /MOLDPRES/- The decision on extending the state of emergency by 60 days was published in the Official Journal of Moldova today.
Following the government's proposal, the parliament yesterday adopted the decision on extending the state of emergency in Moldova by 60 days, starting from 4 February 2023. The need for this decision was determined by the persistent risks and threats aimed at national security, as well as the supply of the Republic of Moldova with energy resources for the cold period.
Under the document, the parliament will inform within 3 days the UN Secretary- General and the Secretary General of the Council of Europe about this decision and the reasons for its adoption.
The decision sees that the state of emergency does not affect the organization and conduct of the elections for governor (bashkan) and the partial ones for the People's Assembly of Gagauzia in the spring of 2023 in Gagauzia.
