Photovoltaic power station constructed in village of western district of Moldova

Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/ - A photovoltaic power station has been constructed in the Busila village, western Ungheni district, which will provide with energy the water supply station from this settlement. The project was implemented within the European Village national programme, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.    

The station has a capacity of 80 kW, enough for the provision of the water supply station, from which those about 1,800 residents of the village benefit. Due to the photovoltaic station, about 180,000 lei will be annually saved. On a visit to this region, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu visited the power station, noting that this project was an example for other settlements of Moldova. ‘’ I am impressed. It is excellent that the local public authorities had this idea. The important thing is that this project is extended to public institutions too, beginning with the health or education ones. Let us use what nature is providing us,’’ Speaker Igor Grosu said.   

Also, the parliament speaker went to the Todiresti village, Ungheni district, where he had a meeting with citizens, during which topical subjects were discussed.    

„The moment we face is not at all simple. Unfortunately, the war in Ukraine hit us everybody. Nevertheless, our priorities stay the same. We plan to increase the subsidization fund in agriculture, to index the pensions, depending on the financial possibilities, and to develop the education institutions. At the same time, we have now the chance to become members of the European Union and we will use this chance,’’ Igor Grosu added.     

The construction of the photovoltaic power station cost 2.1 million lei. The money was allocated within the European Village Local Development Programme. At the same time, through the European Village Programme, 19 projects were implemented in the Ungheni district, which regard the building of aqueduct and sewerage systems, renovation of public buildings and streets’ illumination.
