First Home Programme of Moldova has over 8,100 beneficiaries

Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 8,102 people have purchased a dwellings within the First Home Programme since the latter’s launch till present. Most beneficiaries are young families who chose to purchase apartments in urban zones. The Finance Ministry unveiled data to this effect today.    

Commercial banks have provided loans worth 4.43 billion lei in all for buying dwellings. The overall value of the active guarantees is of 2.1 billion lei.  

As many as 5,561 out of those 8,102 beneficiaries are families and 2,541 – young unmarried people. The average age of the applicants is of 31 years. 

The average area of the dwellings purchased within the Programme is of 60.91 square metres and their value is of 640.51 thousand lei (32,000 euros). A number of 7,557 dwellings of the procured ones are placed in urban areas and 545 – in rural ones. As many as 7,338 dwellings purchased are apartments and 764 – private houses.

The First Home Programme was launched in 2018. As many as 8,553 applications have been submitted so far. The government has recently ruled to compensate the increase in the interest rate for the Programme’s beneficiaries till July 2023.
