Chisinau, 9 Feb. /MOLDPRES/- Until 17 February American volunteer Dannica Wall, an expert in the poultry breeding will provide assistance to Moldovan agricultural producers in the organic animal breeding and will meet with relevant associations, the academic environment in the agriculture and local producers.
The visit is organized by the USAID, through the Farmer-to-Farmer Program implemented by CNFA (Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture) Moldova, which provides voluntary technical assistance to the agricultural sector in the Republic of Moldova to contribute to economic growth by improving agricultural processes and production.
The main goal of the volunteer mission is to develop a pocket guide and infographics on organic free range poultry farming, as well as training Moldovan farmers and students. This guide is to be carried out in collaboration with the Moldova Organic Value Chain Alliance, in partnership with the Education for Development Public Association.
The Republic of Moldova currently does not have organic production in the livestock sector, despite the existence of a growing demand for meat, poultry eggs and manure. Several Moldovan producers have announced their intention to initiate ecological animal breeding activities in order to develop their businesses and become competitive on the regional and European market.
