Moldovan Intelligence and Security Service carries out measures to elucidate attempts of destabilizing situation in Moldova

Chisinau, 9 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) has confirmed the reception of concerned information from Ukrainian partners, following statements by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.   

„In the context, SIS confirms that, both the information unveiled by our Ukrainian partners, as well as following operative work of the Service, subversive activities were identified, with the goal to undermine the state Republic of Moldova, destabilize and infringe the public order. At the point, we cannot provide more details, as there is a risk for diverse operational activities underway to be jeopardized,’’ a press release by the Intelligence and Security Service reads.       

In the same communiqué, SIS assures Moldova’s citizens that all state’s institutions work at full capacity and will not allow the carrying out of provocations.   

In a today’s speech given at the European Council, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed that Russia would have a plan to change the power in Moldova.  

„I talked to Maia Sandu and I informed her about what our intelligence had managed to learn. There is a Russian plan to destroy the political situation in Moldova, a Russian document which shows who, when and how wants to destroy Moldova, who wants to change the democratic order and to establish control over the country,’’ the Ukrainian president said.
