Buildings of central public authorities to be renovated in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - The buildings of the public domain which do not meet the energy performance requirements will be renovated starting from 2024. The parliamentary commission for foreign policy and European integration approved a draft law to this effect today.   

Thus, beginning with 2024, the central authorities’ buildings with an area of more than 250 square metres and which do not meet the minimum energy performance requirements, will be renovated. Estimations show that expenses worth between 27 and 32 million lei will be needed.   

At the same time, under the draft law, the government will be obliged to undertake the efforts necessary, in order to generate savings of at least 0.8 per cent of the average value of the final consumption of energy registered between 2019 and 2022.  

The draft on amendment of the law on energy efficiency was worked out by the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry.
