Moldovan rescuers' international mission to Turkey ended

Chisinau, February 16 /MOLDPRES/- The Moldovan rescuers' international misison to Turkey has ended. The team is moving to Moldova.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), the rescue team is to arrive in the country at the end of the week, estimated on February 18.
"The Turkish authorities thanked the Moldovan rescuers for their courage, dedication and sacrifice in the search and rescue activities during seven days of continuous mission", a press release of the Ministry of Interior reads.
The employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations managed to rescue a three-year-old boy from under the ruins of an apartment block, where he was for more than four days. The Moldovan specialists, being in mixed groups with rescuers from Hungary, Mexico, the Netherlands and Turkey, carried out evaluation works of buildings and recovery of bodies.
The team of Moldovan rescuers started the international mission on February 6, to help the Turkish people. It was made up of 55 rescuers, 12 fully autonomous emergency vehicles and two dogs.
