FOTO MOLDPRES consolidates position on European media market: Institution signs agreement on cooperation with ANSA News Agency of Italy

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - The MOLDPRES State News Agency today concluded an agreement on cooperation with the ANSA News Agency of Italy. The document provides for the mutual spread of stories and information products.     

The event was held in a mixed format. In Moldova, attending the action were MOLDPRES Director Petru Beregoi and Ambassador of Italy in Chisinau, Lorenzo Tomassoni and in Italy – ANSA Agency’s Director Stefano De Alessandri and Ambassador of Moldova to Italy Anatolie Urecheanu.    

MOLDPRES Director Petru Beregoi stressed that the exchange of information with ANSA would allow extending the area of approaching external subjects and events. ‘’The cooperation agreement will represent an important step for the cooperation of the MOLDPRES Agency with similar media institutions from the European Union. This fact represents an opportunity to promote our information products and to be more visible on the European media market. At the same time, the European community will be informed from official sources about the important events in Moldova,’’ Petru Beregoi said.     

For his part, ANSA Agency’s Director Stefano De Alessandri said the institution had signed cooperation agreements with all EU countries. ‘’For the first time ever, we sign a cooperation agreement with an agency from a country non-member of the European Union and is member of the former states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). ANSA has over 1,000 employees. We everybody rely on the mutual spread of media products and carrying out the exchange of experience,’’ Stefano De Alessandri noted.    

The National Associated Press Agency or Agenzia Nazionale Stampa Associata (ANSA) is the most important news agency of Italy. ANSA is a non-for-profit cooperative, the members and owners or which are 36 top news organizations from Italy. ANSA is conceived to collect and deliver information on the principal Italian and world events. To this end, the institution has 22 offices in Italy and 81 ones in another 78 countries. ANSA is headquartered in Rome. The ANSA agencies delivers more than 3,500 stories and over 1,500 photos per day, spread to the Italian media, national institutions, local and international commercial associations, political parties and trade unions. Besides the information materials made in Italian, ANSA spreads its stories in English, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Arabic.   

MOLDPRES signed similar agreements with the Agencies Agerpres of Romania and Ukrinform from Ukraine and presently, discussions are held with the news agencies of Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, Georgia and Armenia for the signing of similar agreements.
